Gynecology in Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco under French protectorate

 

Mayan is a PhD student at the ERC project "Regional History of Medicine in the Modern Middle East". Her research deals with gynecology and obstetrics in Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco under French protectorate. Mayan is interested in the medicalization of the human body, and specifically of women’s body and sexual issues.

Her MA thesis was about the medical discourse on sex and sexuality in 1930s Egypt.

Her PhD supervisors are Prof. Liat Kozma and Dr. Orit Vaknin-Yekutieli (Ben-Gurion University).
